The Mystery of Cranewood Manor A novella of mystery and detective fiction. When a wealthy heiress goes missing, her father hires famed private investigators Val Saxon and Laura Hampstead to search for her. The clues lead them to Maine and a castle overlooking the sea. But all is not as it appears. The owner is a man who dabbles in the occult, and was the last one to see the missing woman alive. But as the investigation moves from the dark arts into the realm of murder, a man with a dark secret of his own helps them to solve the case. ♦
About The Book: This book was based on several different influences in film, television, and books; among which were "Dark Shadows", "Remington Steele", "The Thin Man" series of mystery films starring Dick Powell and Myrna Loy, Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone), as well as numerous film noir pieces such as The Maltese Falcon, The Lost Weekend, and also The Big Sleep, with a nod to The Haunting. Other books like those by Agatha Christie and Robert Ludlum are included. Rather than start a series, I have decided that this one can stand alone. If I write any more in this genre, I will just add them to the library.
